The task: Tecan, a leading manufacturer of automated laboratory instruments and solutions, turned to holm° to redesign the perception of its brand in the public areas of its headquarters in Männedorf in the canton of Zurich.

The challenge: The existing use of the extensive areas was neither functional nor did it reflect the company's prestigious position in the industry. Significant acoustic issues and different space utilisation requirements needed to be resolved, while ensuring that the design reflected Tecan's status as a market leader. In collaboration with Naomi Hajnos Architekten we made the necessary architectural changes to realise our vision.

The result: The lobby now has a fresh, inviting and natural aesthetic that picks up on the colours of Tecan's corporate design and offers an inviting view into the show laboratory. The room is regularly used for town hall meetings and external guest events. The ultra-modern products are exhibited in the neighbouring showroom. The nearby meeting rooms are equipped with modern communication technology and flexible furniture and are suitable for a variety of meeting formats. These newly designed rooms now epitomise the present and future of Tecan and bring a smile to the faces of customers and employees when they enter the building.
