Nordic Talk - Minimalism: The freedom of the right things
Scandinavian design and minimalist furnishings – many people immediately think of white-painted rooms, a single, not too comfortable-looking piece of furniture made of light wood and a decorative branch in a clear, simple vase. For us, however, minimalism is not an end in itself, but an attitude: not leaving everything out, but choosing the right things. Conscious living, personal and with courage, to achieve hygge.
In this edition of our Nordic Talks, we talk about minimalism as freedom – the freedom to do the right things.
Because less really is more
Q: What does minimalism mean to you?
A: For us, minimalism doesn’t mean clearing out rooms, but filling them carefully. It’s about the quality of choice, not the quantity of things. Minimalist interior design means leaving nothing to chance, but consciously designing what surrounds you – so that it does you good.
The main thing is "being right"?
The personality behind it
A: By listening. Many customers feel overwhelmed by the abundance of choice – or think that “minimalist” means throwing everything away. If you do this without thinking it through, it often leads to people feeling uncomfortable and starting to put in sometimes irrelevant “stuff”.
You’ll be back on “Square One” in no time. Just like with diets: If you follow every trend for years, you rarely achieve anything sustainable – instead of going to a good nutritionist who helps you understand what is good for your body in the long term.
We help to set priorities, show character and find the right pieces to give the room a story. Minimalism with personality – like a good menu in a Michelin-starred restaurant: perfectly composed, balanced, inspiring, never too much.
Courage to do your own thing
A: Then even more so. Minimalism doesn’t mean you have to be happy with just a chair and a table. Collectors and lovers of opulent pieces also benefit from good curation. The decisive factor is that every piece has to make sense – and give pleasure. Whether it’s three books or three hundred, the important thing is that they suit you.
Minimalism with personality
For us, minimalism does not mean renunciation, but courage: the courage to accept the invitation to live more consciously. Instead of chasing trends, we create spaces that suit you – clear, harmonious and with personality. Fewer things. More you.
