Reimagining Hans J. Wegner's five first masterpiecesTo celebrate Hans J. Wegner’s enduring legacy and more than 70 years of collaboration with Carl Hansen & Søn, they selected Ilse Crawford, the renowned British designer and interior architect, to reimagine Hans J. Wegner's first five masterpieces. This limited collection is only available until December 31st 2021 at a small number of selected partners. The chairs’ timeless forms are accentuated through the use of rich, painterly colors, inspired by the expressionist works of Per Kirkeby, one of Denmark’s most significant painters. The carefully curated palette of translucent, non-toxic, water-based paints was selected to add depth and complexity to the familiar shapes as well as to allow the natural beauty of the wood grain to shine through each design. All five models, each in one of the selected colours, will be displayed in our shop starting April 13th. In addition, all versions are available in our online shop.

There are probably only very few Scandinavians who have never encountered these chairs throughout their lives. The Series 7™ chair is an icon in modern furniture history, designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1955 for Fritz Hansen. Until the end of 2021, Fritz Hansen offers 6 of the models 3107 and 3207 in coloured ash, lacquer or veneer for the price of 5! Since the introduction of the current colour collection by Carla Sozzani in 2020, there is a huge number of combinations possible thanks to the 16 shell colours and 7 leg surfaces. The 3107 is currently available from CHF 405 and the 3207 from CHF 672. |
