Lange Production: Danish design with a history

04/03/2026

Some brands just stay with you. Not just because of their furniture, but because of the people and the attitude behind them. Lange Production is one of them for us.

We have known Henrik since the early years of his brand. Since conversations about design classics from the 1960s, about steel frames, leather qualities and about why a piece of furniture should be more than just beautiful.

What convinced us back then still convinces us today: the clarity, the calm and the uncompromising quality.

Lange Production represents Danish design, based on honest materials, precise craftsmanship and a clear design language. Furniture that doesn't have to be loud to be effective.

Where it all began

Henrik Lange has been collecting design since he was young. He was particularly fascinated by Scandinavian furniture design from the 1950s and 60s. In 2006, he decided to turn this passion into his own company.

It was a bold move. Henrik had previously worked as a strategy consultant for international companies. In order to found Lange Production, he even sold part of his own design collection.

Perhaps that's why we understand this step so well. After all, we also set up our own business in 2004. You instinctively understand this mixture of passion, risk and conviction when you have experienced it yourself.

The brand began around the furniture of Fabricius & Kastholm - two designers whose designs are considered by many connoisseurs to be among the most elegant of Danish modernism. The FK 87 Grasshopper Chair from 1965 is a particularly good example of this design approach: light, precise and still surprisingly modern today.

Over time, other designers were added to the collection, including Grete Jalk with her sculptural GJ Bow Chair and Horst Brüning, known for his elegant steel and leather designs.

Perhaps this consistency can no longer be taken for granted today. But it is precisely this attitude that can also be felt in the furniture.

Craftsmanship that you can see - and feel

Lange Production does not simply produce. It is manufactured - in specialized workshops in Denmark and Germany.

Wood, steel and leather are processed with great care. Many production methods date back to the 1960s. Wherever possible, original techniques are used. At the same time, further developments are made where modern technologies can still improve quality.

You notice that quickly. In the materials, in the workmanship and in how naturally this furniture appears in the room.

A collection with character

What makes Lange Production so special for us is the calmness of this furniture. They do not impose themselves. Their proportions, their materials and the clarity of their design make an impact.

Many of the designs date back to the 1960s, but look just as contemporary today as they did back then. The furniture builds a beautiful bridge between past and present. It is precisely this balance that makes them so strong.

Today, Lange Production furniture can be found at selected design dealers all over the world. A large part of the production is exported - to Europe, North America and Asia. In recent years, more and more architects and interior designers have also discovered the collection for their projects.

We are not surprised. The furniture has exactly what good architecture needs: clear lines, strong materials and quality that lasts. Things that don't really need much explanation.

Why we value this brand so much

For us, Lange Production is more than just a brand in our range. It is an attitude. A shared conviction that good design comes from form, function and finish - and from genuine passion.

Henrik took this path very consciously. Without investors, step by step. Each product was only implemented if it was really convincing. Perhaps this consistency can no longer be taken for granted today. You can also feel this attitude in the furniture. And that is precisely why we are proud to have Lange Production as our partner for many years.

Several pieces from the collection have arrived in our store again in recent weeks - classics by Fabricius & Kastholm and designs by Horst Brüning.

Anyone who experiences this furniture up close will quickly understand why these designs have been inspiring people for decades. They don't need a big stage. No big words. This is furniture that lasts.
