50 limited anniversary editions

A very rare opportunity for design aficionados:

In celebration of the 75th anniversary, PP Møbler presents a limited number of the pp501 in teak. There will be 50 of this special edition, each numbered and featuring an engraved brass plaque under the seat. The price is CHF 10'500.

Ordering the anniversary model is possible from June 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM CEST.

The wood used is Burma teak, which has been stored for many years. This extended storage has allowed the wood to dry and mature optimally. Burma teak is known for its exceptional quality, durability, and beautiful golden color.

Hans J. Wegner first introduced the pp501 with a woven seat and back at the Cabinetmakers’ Autumn Exhibition in 1949.

Wegner himself called the chair 'The Round One', even though he was not in the habit of naming his furniture. The chair marked a major breakthrough for both Wegner and Danish design exports. It became an iconic representative of Danish furniture design and Wegner's exceptional craftsmanship.

Its simple yet elegant form expresses the best of Danish modernism and functionalism, and the chair quickly became popular in the American market, gaining international recognition. This opened doors for other Danish designers and manufacturers worldwide.
