Kasthall 2018 collection

This year's edition of the Stockholm Furniture Fair offered many exiting news. Swedish Kasthall continues to deliver and introduced several new colours and combinations to already existing designs, next to some fantastic new launches. Our favourites were Diamond, Gabrielle and Katja, all by Maja Johansson Starander.

Diamond - A new technique to cover and sometimes break up the underlying pattern. The rug has a sophisticated structure of cut pile and bouclé pile on which lines and stitches are applied by hand on the surface. A design drawn from exclusive embroidery and haute couture.

Gabrielle - By applying linear effects along both warp and weft, artistic passion and skilled handicraft is transformed into an exquisite rug with look drawn from vintage textiles, carefully mended details on clothes and every day objects.

Katja - Maja Johansson Starander was inspired by the Swedish fashion designer Katja of Sweden and developed a hand tufted wool rug with a pile cut in two different heights in an abstract organic pattern. To form the curly, frizzy, even waffled surface, a specially developed wool yarn with lots of volume is used in a new unique 3D tuft technique.

A special mention has to go to Ellinor Eliasson who developed the Harvest series, which was actually launched last year. The Harvest carpet just received the Elle Decoration Design Award 2018. These rugs make use of leftover spools of yarn from the production process. Delivery times on these rugs may vary depending on whether the color concept you select has enough residual yarn. By then, you will be in possession of an absolutely unique rug of exquisite design and high quality, which will last you a lifetime, if you take care of it. We already have the samples in the store. You are very welcome to stop by.
