Le Klint. A Danish lighting manufacturer with roots dating back to 1901 that combines light, craftsmanship, and precision in its designs.
Folded Light from Denmark
Le Klint embodies Danish lighting culture, precision craftsmanship, and a distinctive design language like no other brand. The company is best known for its hand-pleated lampshades, designer pendant lights, and floor lamps, which combine functional lighting with a warm, atmospheric ambiance.
This tradition dates back to 1901, when Peder Vilhelm Jensen-Klint developed the first pleated lampshade. With the Grip-Collar, patented by Tage Klint in 1938, the paper lampshade acquired the design that is still used today. The Model 1 pendant lamp and floor lamp are still manufactured according to this principle and finished by hand in Denmark by experienced folding artisans.
What appears decorative at first glance is actually the result of precise design. The pleating directs the light, reduces glare, and creates a soft sense of spatial depth. Designers such as Poul Christiansen and Øivind Slaatto have taken this idea further and translated it into contemporary lighting fixtures that use light in a controlled, atmospheric, and very natural way.
We carry Le Klint because it brings together over a century of design, craftsmanship, and expertise in lighting. These are lights that not only illuminate a room but also create atmosphere, depth, and a sense of natural ease.
